Embracing the New Age of Dentistry
Dental Technology Ohio
At Great Lakes Dental we understand that dentistry is constantly evolving, and we’re dedicated to evolving with it. While some dental practices remain rooted in traditional methods, we believe that using the most technologically advanced tools and techniques allows us to provide our patients with aesthetically-pleasing results in the most comfortable, efficient manner possible. The dental technology that we utilize at our Ohio office can help you get the most out of your dental care. As a further commitment to patient convenience, we’ve also gone paperless, allowing us to maintain organized, electronic records of our patients’ oral healthy history. If you are interested in learning more about the unique tools detailed below, and are seeking superlative dental treatment, contact our Mentor, Ohio dental practice. We proudly serve patients throughout the Cleveland area.
E4D Dentist™
The E4D computer-aided design system has revolutionized our methods for restorative and cosmetic dentistry. The E4D system is a state-of-the-art milling machine, which allows us to create dental restorations such as crowns, inlays & onlays, and veneers in less than one hour. Prior to our acquisition of this dental technology, patients had to wait several weeks to have restorations crafted at a dental lab. The E4D system eliminates the waiting game, and allows Dr. Beech to fit and place restorations in one easy office visit. It also does away with the need for temporary restorations.
Using a special laser, Dr. Beech will first take a series of pictures of the affected teeth. Then, E4D’s computer-added technology creates a realistic 3D model that depicts both the tooth, and soft tissue structures. Viewing this model, Dr. Beech can use E4D’s tools to create a restoration that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. He can also create custom staining and glazing, to match the look of natural teeth. E4D dental technology is invaluable when it comes to patient convenience and comfort.
KODAK Digital Radiography
Digital radiography creates X-ray results instantly, allowing Dr. Beech and his team to identify dental issues on the spot, and prescribe treatment immediately. We utilize this dental technology at our Ohio dental office because it is also safer than traditional dental X-rays. In fact, KODAK digital radiography uses nearly 50 percent less radiation than traditional devices - the lowest dose currently possible. We have also equipped each of our exam rooms with 19-inch flat screen computer monitors, so X-ray results can be enlarged and shown to the patient to help them better understand the condition of their oral health.
Intraoral Camera
Our Mentor, Ohio dental practice uses intraoral cameras as an important adjunct piece of technology. The intraoral camera allows Dr. Beech and our staff to take digital photographs of patients' individual teeth and gums. The photos are displayed on 19-inch flat screen computer monitors which allows patients to see problems magnified twenty times. Broken fillings, active decay, existing restorations, tartar build up, and more can be seen. Dr. Beech reviews the images with you and saves the photos digitally into paperless charts. The photos are used to assist patients in seeing exactly what Dr. Beech sees. This allows patients to co-discover their teeth conditions and help in formulating a plan of treatment options.
Picasso® Soft Tissue Laser
Laser dentistry provides a non-invasive method for performing various dental procedures. The Picasso® soft tissue laser allows us to provide adequate periodontal care with little discomfort to the patient. Using this high-energy laser, Dr. Beech can perform “gum lifts” to reduce the appearance of a gummy smile, remove infected tissue, and eliminate bacteria. Laser technology is precise and efficient, and allows patients to receive the results they desire without pain or lengthy procedures.
Zoom!® Whitening
Professional in-office whitening is the best method for achieving long-lasting results. The Zoom® Whitening System uses a highly-concentrated gel to produce results that are up to eight shades whiter- all within one hour. Whitening gel is applied to the teeth individually for three, 15-minute intervals. Because the process is monitored by Dr. Beech, it can be adjusted to accommodate patient sensitivities and desired results.
Air Abrasion
Air abrasion is drill-less dentistry. This method uses a hand-held tool that projects a stream of particles onto the teeth to eliminate areas of decay and clean the surface area. Air abrasion causes little discomfort to the patient and preserves more healthy tissue than traditional dental treatments.
Drufomat Machine
Our office is also equipped with a Drufomat machine, which can be used to create custom mouth guards. These mouth guards have many potential uses, including for sports, bleaching trays, night guards, and orthodontic treatments. If mouth guards are prescribed to you during the course of your dental treatment, we can fabricate the guard to your exact specifications, in house.
